Scouts serve a three course meal

At the Troop Forum at the beginning of term the Scouts asked if they could make a three course meal for their parents and siblings. They planned an Italian-theme menu consisting of anti-pasti, garlic bread, spaghetti bolognese, apple cake, coffee and mints.

Over the weeks preceding the Parents’ meal they:

  • tried out different garlic bread recipes and choose their favourite (ciabatta, garlic, parley and olive oil)
  • practiced making meat and veggie bolognese
  • perfected their apple cake recipe
  • learned how to lay a table and serve a meal.

They also did a lot of washing up and tasting!

Their parents and siblings enjoyed their delicious meal and the Scouts were proud of their new found skills and teamworking.
