Scouts prepare for Moonwalk

One of the highlights of the Bromley Scouting calendar is Moonwalk – an overnight incident hike in a large campsite in Sussex.  Despite spending most of the night walking through the woods finding and then doing challenges, there is also a bit of camping.  So, to make sure everybody remembers how to put up tents, and to check they are ok to take with us, the Scouts split into teams and had a tent race: who could put up their tent, inspect it to make sure it’s fit for use and pack it away again.  They all did very well and were able to confirm the tents were still in good condition.

They also proved they could still remember how to map read including using grid references.  Skills that will definitely be needed for Moonwalk.
