The Scouts had a fun, if wet and windy, weekend camping and running the Scouts of Steel Assault course.
The weekend started on Saturday afternoon when the Scouts put up their tents, gathered fire wood and cooked dinner. Songs were sung around the campfire before we all retired to bed when the rain started at about 10pm.
In the morning the Scouts cooked a hearty breakfast before preparing to run the assault course.
Over 300 Scouts from across Bromley took part in the event which saw nearly 70 teams competing to win the Scouts of Steel trophies.
The 19th Bromley didn’t win, but we improved significantly on our times in 2018 and 2017 and everybody had loads of fun… despite the rain!
Thanks especially to the Bromley District Youth Events Team for putting on another great event. We’re looking forward to Scouts of Steel 2020!
