As part of the Pioneering and Outdoor Challenge badge the Scouts have tried their hand at making a wash stand. These are skills that are useful when camping or needing to improvise facilities from materials at hand.
The Scouts practiced using staves and rope – probably harder than using rougher branches and sisal string which is usually recommended.
They also had to adapt the design slightly as they couldn’t use guy lines or secure the wash stand into the ground.
The results were good (for a first try) but there’s definitely room for improvement!
