Beavers and the local community

The Beavers have been learning about their local community over the last few weeks. They have looked at maps of the local area and identified where their schools are, which shops they go to and where local services are.

One of their tasks was to find out about a job that somebody that serves the local community does. They asked to find out more about the work done by Reverend Karen from the Bromley Methodist Church.

Karen organised an interactive session with items that she uses in her work for the Beavers. They learnt about her role visiting parishoners, christenings, marriages, funerals along with the weekly church services and lessons for local school children.

The Beavers planted some daffodil bulbs that in spring would be planted around the Church to make the area nicer for the local community. They also donated Christmas food for the local Food Bank.
