19th Bromley Group help wildlife

On a lovely sunny Saturday at the end of half term, some of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts went along to Dorset Road Allotments to help them plant a new hedge made up of native trees that will provide food and a habitat for native wildlife.

They also used the seed bombs they’d made on a Wednesday evening session to ‘bomb’ the wildlife garden to increase biodiversity.

As well as being fun, this activity has contributed to the young people gaining badges for helping a local community group as well as learning about allotments, providing habitats for native wildlife and helping to mitigate against climate change.
